2020 - A World Changed Forever
Our world is changing more drastically every single day. More than we can keep up with. Some are bombarded by the election and others about the health of our world and how we can help. This December the presidential election is coming up, which means it is a very tense, controversial and serious time. This puts a lot of stress on everyone to go out and vote for who they believe is the best candidate. The presidential election shows us that we don't all think the same and are entitled to our own opinions. The election is always a very important time in the year, and usually causes conflict, debate, and controversy through our society. The first debates are coming up starting on september 29, this is the first time the two candidates will have a live debate with each other for this election.
For the first time in what seems like forever, social distancing has become less strict. With coronavirus cases lowering everyday, people from all over the world are starting to come in contact with each other again. Professional Sports are back on and even recreational sports for kids are opening back up. As well as restaurants, shops, and recreational centers. Having to wear a mask of course is not the most convenient but still a big step towards this pandemic ending. Tryouts for sports like cross country, football, basketball have started and even the season has started. AAU is starting up and allowing kids to finally get some team practice in before the season starts. AAU has been canceled for the entire summer, leaving out the opportunity to practice with teams and with friends during the summer. This makes the tryouts this year very important because coaches haven't had the ability to see kids play during the summer.
Not all changes in our world are benefiting us. On the west coast of the U.S wildfires are burning at an exponential rate, causing hundreds of acres of land and wildlife to die and be destroyed. These wildfires are some of the biggest we have seen in a very long time and because of their massive size, it is said that the smoke created from the fires will permanently impact our climate. Scientists have predicted that climate change will most definitely occur especially in the United States, and possibly all around the world. The smoke created from the fires is so dense that it has impacted the sun and will continue to. The smoke has actually changed the tint of the sun. It can be seen on a sunrise or sunset and the sun will appear orange and seem to be magnified or look very close to earth. The smoke has also impacted the amount of sunlight that reaches the ground. The dense clouds caused by the wildfires are blocking sun rays to the surface. This is one of the main causes for global warming today. Sun rays being trapped in our atmosphere has been a problem for a long time. Sun rays are very important for our health and well-being because they provide vitamins and energy to us directly. This not only impacts the atmosphere, but us aswell and our well being.
On the other hand Halloween is just around the corner ,a holiday where we can express ourselves completely judgment free. Multiple news sources have confirmed that this halloween will take place, just under very serious circumstances. Anyone trick or treating has to wear gloves and a mask for their protection and the protection of others. Halloween could be the end to this entire corona disaster, finally showing that it would be safe to roam and possibly come into contact with others more frequently. Hopefully our world can get back to normal and become safe for all of us again.
