 Fall Fashion 2020

Even though 2020 has been a horrible and messy year with the pandemic, forest wildfires, and having to social distance, there's one thing that won’t be horrible or a mess this year: the 2020 fall fashion. From the patchwork pants down to the shoulder bags and bucket hats, there’s so much that you don’t wanna miss out on this fall.


COVID-19 has affected many things in fashion including the fashion shows. It’s being planned that it’ll be casted virtually live and without any guests. As conditions become safer, they’ll be adding guests in the shows little by little.


With all the free time during quarantine, it’s enabled people to brainstorm and be creative towards outfit ideas and reinvent new styles. A lot of the fashion inspiration this year has come from the trends in the late 90s and early 2000s. 


This year there’s a mix of grunge, preppy, neutral colors, plaid, patchwork, animal prints like cow/zebra, and jewel tones. Some big trends that are arising at the time are different styles of jeans like baggy and patchwork, different coats that include blazers and leather jackets, and even accessories such as cat eye sunglasses, chunky boots, and hoop earrings.


There are many clothing pieces that you’ll be seeing everyone wear this year, and hopefully yourself as well. In the tops and coats department it includes: argyle patterned cardigans and vests, vintage crewnecks, cropped and leather blazers, lacy tanks, patchwork denim jackets, oversized flannels, graphic tees, preppy collars, and big puffy jackets.




Many bottoms will go perfectly with those tops and jackets. They include: pleated and plaid patterned skirts, baggy/patchwork/animal print/corduroy jeans, and preppy trousers. Or if you like wearing sets of clothing you could wear monochrome sets, all neutral, or all plaid which is heavily inspired by Cher Horowitz’s iconic yellow plaid blazer and skirt set from Clueless.



Lastly, you’ll need accessories and shoes to go with your outfit that’ll top it off perfectly. Some accessories are golden jewelry such as hoops, scaly shoulder bags, and, of course, patterned masks that’ll go with your outfit. Shoes that you’ve got to have are chunky boots like Doc Martens, squared-toed heels, platform sandals, plus simple sneakers such as Blazer Mid ‘77 Vintage Nikes, Club C 85 Reeboks, and Chuck Taylor 70 Vintage Canvas Highs.




Now in mens fashion, even though some clothing pieces are similar to women’s, there are many new rising fall trends. These trends include argyle patterned sweaters, plaid fleece shirts, roll neck sweaters, denim jackets, knit vests, and polos.


In the bottoms section, what’s big right now are corduroy and baggy pants. Accessories to go with these outfits are Doc Marten Oxfords, chain and pendant necklaces, and rings.

80’s, 90’s, & 00’s Movies Are Coming Back

  The best decades are officially coming back! The fashion, music, and even the fame of older celebrities in their prime. One of the biggest things that are helping these eras regain fame are the iconic movies made during these decades. Some movies that have been regaining popularity are Clueless (1995), Scream (1996), Heathers (1988), and the famous Harry Potter series. During quarantine, many people started to binge-watch these golden timed movies which helped them regain fame. There’s a theory about fashion and pop culture called “nostalgia pendulum.” This means that what’s old is new again every 20 to 30 years.
