Back on March 20th Tom Brady decided to leave the New England Patriots, whom he had been playing with for since the year 2000. He had signed a two year contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers coming off an underwhelming 7-9 record and had looked to upgrade their Quarterback position. Brady has just since made his debut with the Buccaneers which resulted in a loss to the New Orleans Saints.
It seems pretty bizarre to see Tom Brady on any other football team other than the New England Patriots and will take some time to get used to. The 6 time super bowl champion has racked up over 74,000 career passing yards and over 500 touchdowns. He has won many awards in his career winning three NFL most valuable player awards (2007,2010,2017) NFL comeback player of the year award (2009) and Sports illustrated Sportsperson of the year (2005). Brady has broken many records in his career such as the total number of yards in NFL history (82.987), Super bowl appearances (9), Super bowl wins (6) and Super bowl MVPs (4) with many more records.
Brady’s debut with the Buccaneers seemed to be a bit underwhelming considering the high standard that is put on him to be so great. Brady has 239 passing yards along with 2 touchdown passes and 2 interceptions. He also finished his first game off with a 78.4 quarterback rating which is low compared to his career average rating of 96.9. These stats came out with a 23 to 34 loss to Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints. Brady and the bucs look to bounce back against a Christain McCaffery led Carolina Panthers team.
